Building the portfolio within Jai’s Archive

I wanted my academic portfolio to live within Jai’s Archive because I already had a website containing my photography, background, and professional work. My goal was to connect that work to my Organizational Leadership education without changing the purpose of the business website. I chose Golfland Sunsplash as my first project management artifact because it was a real project where I applied my current lessons. For that project, I rethought my approach to the photos, batched tasks, made a checklist, created a scope of work, and wrote out the deliverables. The portfolio gives me a place to explain that process alongside the work itself.

What worked and what needed to change

Using my existing work gave the portfolio a concrete starting point. However, the first arrangement of the academic pages disrupted the website’s original organization, and that was not what I wanted from a business standpoint. I asked for the portfolio to sit within the existing Work structure, with its academic pages grouped together and connected by clear links. I also checked the pages myself and found that having titles and links did not mean the content was finished. My résumé, professional goals, competency reflections, and case analysis each need their actual content, rather than just a page saying they will be added later.

My vision for the finished portfolio

My vision is a portfolio that an instructor can follow easily and that still fits the website I use professionally. It should preserve the existing Home, Work, Services, and About structure while making the academic work accessible from the portfolio section. It should also show my reasoning and the practical work behind the images, not only the finished photographs. At this stage, that vision is not fully achieved because the remaining competency evidence and case-analysis work still need to be completed and reviewed. I will judge the finished portfolio by whether those sections contain meaningful work, accurate context, and usable links.
